Let T.O.P.S Publish Your Perfect-Bound Book!

Available to Members Only

T.O.P.S. offers its members the opportunity to publish a collection of poems in a perfect bound book of 48 or more pages. It will have a colour cover with b/w interior and will include a bio page with optional photo from the poet, as well as a Table of Contents. An I.S.B.N. will be provided. All themes and styles are welcome but content should incorporate innovative imagery and fresh language. Publication will be under the author's choice of Beret Days Press or Poetry Friendly Press. SkyWing Press, in conjunction with The Ontario Poetry Society, might also offer the option of its imprint and ISBN for select manuscripts. If this is your interest you are welcome to inquire. NOTE: Books may be perfect bound for 32-48 pages but they will not have a wide enough spine for text to be printed on, there is the caveat.

Book size can be 5.5" x 8.5" or 6" x 9".

If providing a print-ready interior (.doc file) and print-ready 300 dpi cover (.jpg file, full - front and back): the cost of 48-100 pages is 15 cents/page (up to $15 per copy). The minimum order is 50 books. These charges include administration, printing cost (incl. taxes) and shipping fees. NOTE: Books over 100 pages of poetry require a quote.

If your manuscript requires setup and a full cover design made print-ready, the additional cost must be quoted in advance, to obtain a final total cost. This will require prior submission of the ms and any cover materials -- for assessing the amount of labour required to bring it to completion.

  • Submit manuscripts single spaced, one poem per page, Arial 11 pt font, in an MSWord .doc file (NOT .docx).
  • Colour portraits (head and shoulders) and cover images must be 300 dpi resolution, .jpeg or .png file.
One free book comes with each first order (not on re-orders).

The Ontario Poetry Society prints additional copies for libraries, including The National Library of Canada, a book reviewer and for T.O.P.S. archives.

Members can approach the organizer(s) of any T.O.P.S.' scheduled event to be included for launching their new publication and selling copies during the break(s). They will also get a book review, written by a fellow member, in the next issue of Verse Afire.

Kindly note that due to the work involved in producing a larger book, the wait time for your order can take six months to a year.
